Seattle Sounders continue to dazzle Major League Soccer with their brilliant attendance numbers and this weekend will be no different.
The Sounders take on arch rival Portland Timbers in the Cascadia Cup on Sunday and as of Monday afternoon, they had sold more than 66,000 tickets to the CenturyLink Field clash.
That figure will more than likely rise by kick-off meaning that the Sounders could take the second-highest attendance figure in MLS history for games not involved in a double header, surpassing the 66,237 for the LA Galaxy's visit to New York Red Bull at Giants Stadium in August 2007.
The current stand-alone record is believed to be 69,255 for MLS' inaugural game in 1996.
The attendance number will put Seattle's season average over 43,00 which will put them well on the way to beating last year's record of 38,496 with just two regular season home fixtures remaining.
