Official release from Charleston Battery SC

Midfielder Alex Caskey has been transferred to Major League Soccer's Seattle Sounders; per Major League Soccer and club policy, terms were not disclosed.

23-year old Caskey enjoyed an excellent rookie season with the Charleston Battery in 2011 playing 22 games, scoring one goal with one assist. Caskey is the third player to join the Seattle Sounders from the Charleston Battery, Osvaldo Alonso and Lamar Neagle both played with the Battery before moving up to the Sounders.

A native of Dunwoody, GA, was originally selected by Seattle in the third round (47th overall) of the 2011 MLS SuperDraft. Caskey played centrally and as a wide midfielder for the Battery in 2011.
