Seattle Sounders head coach Sigi Schmid says he is happy that the Freddie Ljungberg situation was finally resolved.
The former Arsenal and Sweden star had been heavily linked with a move from Qwest Field for some time before he joined Chicago Fire on the weekend and although Schmid admitted he had lost a quality player, said it was good to have an uncertain state of affairs knocked on the head.
"It's a situation where Freddie's a great player and for us it was just a situation of resolution helped us," Schmid told the Seattle Times. "But it's something that really is not affecting us on how we approach the game or what we're trying to do. So it was just good for resolution, so everybody sort of knew what was happening, but our play right now is contingent upon our effort."
