Official release from FC Dallas
FC Dallas announced today the signing of MLS veteran forward Scott Sealy and 2012 Supplemental Draft pick Alex Lee. Per league and team policy, terms of the deals will not be disclosed.
Sealy is a veteran of six MLS seasons that has scored 31 goals and nine assists in 128 appearances. After being traded to San Jose from Sporting Kansas City midway through the 2008 season, Sealy racked up three goals and four assists in 40 appearances for the Earthquakes.
"Scott is an experienced and successful forward," said FC Dallas head coach Schellas Hyndman. "He knows the league well and works very hard. He came in here and had a great preseason, scoring a bunch of goals. We are really glad to be able to add him to our strike force heading into this season."
FC Dallas took Lee with its first pick in the 2012 MLS Supplement Draft and Hyndman was thrilled the club were able to select him.
"We were really surprised Alex was still available with the 11th pick," said Hyndman. "He has really lived up to our expectations after seeing him during his senior season at Maryland. He reminds me a lot of Zach Loyd. He is versatile. He can play as either a center back of or right back. Alex is very strong defensively and his abilities getting forward and joining the attack improve every day."
