Scunthorpe United hope to welcome Chelsea fullback Ben Gordon on Monday.
Gordon agreed to join the Iron in early January on loan for the rest of the season after impressing at Kilmarnock in the first half of the campaign. But the move has been held up due to a hamstring strain.
"It has been frustrating because I have been keeping in contact with Ben and he is champing at the bit to get here," said manager Ian Baraclough in the Scunthorpe Telegraph.
"Chelsea have now confirmed that he can come here on Monday.
"He is a young player who loves to get forward. I don't want to put pressure on him, but his style of play is very similar to Ashley Cole.
"He might give us the width we are looking for on the left."
