Scunthorpe United midfielder Josh Wright has revealed why he celebrated his stunning goal in their Carling Cup defeat to Manchester United with the fans.
Wright went wild after opening the scoring with a wonder goal - his first for the club.
The stylish midfielder told tribalfootball.com: "To be honest it was more of a relief scoring a goal because it's been a long time coming.
"I was happy with the strike but went over into the crowd because I knew all my friends and family were over there."
Wright was impressive in front of the national TV cameras on the night.
He added: "I actually find that the better team you play the more time you get on the ball.
"For me I felt more comfortable playing against a side like United because in the Championship sometimes it can get a bit messy. It was very much a passing game so it felt good to be involved.
"However it was a great experience playing against players like that and I thought we match them well just a little unfortunate with the result."
