Alan Knill is hopeful of extending the loan spells of Everton defender Shane Duffy and Manchester United keeper Sam Johnstone with League One Scunthorpe. "We're trying with Shane and the keeper [Johnstone] as well," Knill told BBC Radio Humberside. "We're doing exactly what they [the parent clubs] want us to do which is play them. "We've spoken with Manchester United and they're OK.
"The idea was with Everton that Shane came and played in a competitive first team that was doing OK and hopefully that would bring him on.
"The keeper as well, he's absolutely top-drawer for 18 and he looks a modern goalkeeper."
