Scunthorpe United chairman Steve Wharton is convinced they can upset the millionaires of Manchester City in their FA Cup clash.

Scunthorpe United chairman Steve Wharton is convinced they can upset the millionaires of Manchester City in their FA Cup clash.

Premier League giants Manchester City travel to Glanford Park looking to avoid an FA Cup fourth round banana skin against Nigel Adkins’ men.

Wharton said: “I can’t speak highly enough of the job Nigel has done over the last three years and I’m sure he will come out on top in the battle of wits with Roberto Mancini.

“It is difficult to say what they will make of Glanford Park because I have no idea whether any of them will have faced anything like it before.

“We play good football and have a good home record, so the players will be quietly confident they can spring a surprise.”
