Former Lazio attacker Giuseppe Sculli admits a return to Genoa has surprised him.

Sculli has arrived in the port city this afternoon to undergo his medical after the two clubs agreed a deal for the 30-year-old.

"I'm emotional," he said. "I left on January 18 last year. I return on January 18, 12 months later. When I left here I never thought that I would be able to return one day.

"I'm happy as this is my home. I thank Lazio and especially Genoa President Enrico Preziosi who did all that he could to bring me back.

"This is a challenge for me and I'll have to work hard and well to win the faith of the Coach."
