Manchester United are making a late move for Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng.

BILD says United have 'made contact' with Bayern in a bid to snare the former Man City man.

The report states that the German champs will ask for around £45m for Boateng.

Interestingly, Boateng played 45 minutes against who could be his future team-mates last night for Bayern as the German champs triumphed 1-0 in a friendly.

The big defender, 29, exited the World Cup under a cloud after he was sent off for Germany in their thrilling win over Sweden.

This meant he was suspended for their 2-0 defeat to South Korea that saw them exit the competition.
