SCOUTING REPORT: The 5 League 1 superkids wanted by Man City, Liverpool and Arsenal

Joe Baker reveals five young guns from League One who are being scouted by Premier League clubs ahead of the January market.

 Louis Reed - Sheffield United

The 17 year-old could follow in the footsteps of Phil Jagielka and Kyle Walker in becoming the Blades next big thing. He has already played five times this season and impressed in their opening day defeat to Bristol City. Reed shows calm and composure way above his years and he was rewarded with a new three-year deal by manager Nigel Clough. The likes of Manchester City and Arsenal are keeping close tabs on the youngster and if he continues to feature regularly for his club, it may only be a matter of time before one of them lavishes a huge pay cheque upon United's chairman Kevin McCabe. Is the youngest player ever to represent United in the Football League.

Yasir Kasim - Swindon Town

Kasim has finally found his feet at Swindon Town after being rejected by Tottenham and Brighton earlier in his career. His most eye catching performance came in the Capital One Cup this season, where he scored a fantastic goal against his former team Brighton, as the Robins were defeated 4-2. He became the first player from Iraq to captain a side in the English Football League, when he took the skipper's armband against Coventry City. Premier League teams such as Hull City and Stoke City should be among teams scouting him, as their style is based around ball-playing midfielders in the Kasim mould. Although a return to White Hart Lane seems improbable, it is not out of the question if he maintains his impressive progress.

Kane Ferdinand (Peterborough United)

The cousin of namesake Rio, Kane Ferdinand looks to be an exciting player for future. The tall, combative midfield player was signed by Posh gaffer Darren Ferguson after starring for Southend United in 2012 and he made 37 appearances in all competitions the following campaign as they were relegated from the Championship. Despite being sent out on loan last season, the 22 year-old looks set to play an important role this time around. If he finds the same sort of form and consistency during his first season at London Road, West Ham United, who tried to snare Ferdinand from Southend at the tender age of 18, may be tempted to come calling once again.

Dele Alli - MK Dons

MK Dons will be desperate to keep this emerging talent, dubbed the 'English Messi'. Tottenham, Liverpool and Arsenal are scouting him, with claims Liverpool have already made a £9 million bid. Alli signed an extension to his contract until 2018, however this will not deter the big clubs in England. With Alli previously stating that his childhood hero is Steven Gerrard, this may give the Merseyside club an edge over bidding rivals.

Ben Garratt - Crewe Alexandra

This young shot-stopper could become an important player for Crewe this season. He managed to start 27 times last season, despite facing stiff competition from Alan Martin and veteran Steve Phillips. Liverpool scouts have been spotted at Gresty Road to see him in action, and with Philips joining Brendan Rodgers' coaching staff, he will be highly recommended. Indeed, Philips has suggested that he has the potential to be one of the top goalkeepers in the country. Has been capped at U17, U18 and U19 level by England.
