Former Liverpool goalkeeper Sander Westerveld claims to have turned down the chance to move to Scottish football. "I could go to Greece and Scotland, but I didn't like those clubs," the 33 year old told AD Sportwereld. "And the contacts in Spain never became concrete.
"No other club from Holland knocked on my door."
Westerveld insists he will call it a day if a tempting offer fails to emerge.
"I have agreed with my wife that I will wait until the end of the winter break to see if an offer comes," he added.
"If nothing comes my way in that time, I will definitely stop. Up until then I will train fully and seriously. I feel very fit."
