Glasgow-born Republic of Ireland international James McCarthy is reportedly the subject of a three-way transfer scrap.
The 20-year old Wigan Athletic midfielder is attracting interest from the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal with SunSport suggesting that the Reds are set to make a summer bid of more than £10 for the former Hamilton Academical man.
Scouts from both Stamford Bridge and Emirates Stadium are believed to be impressed by McCarthy indicating that either could come in for him in the next transfer window to challenge Liverpool for his signature.
