The Senegalese left-back was involved in a two-vehicle collision on the M4 last Sunday, and was airlifted to hospital with thigh and jaw bone injuries.
He has since had surgery on his injuries and is expected to make a full recovery, but could be out for around six months.
Dann told the Croydon Advertiser: "Last weekend we got the horrible news that Pape had been involved in a serious car crash and had been taken to hospital.
"I went to visit him this week and he was pretty banged up but in good spirits and thankful that he had come out of it the other side.
"He's had his operation now and can rest up, and hopefully he will come back stronger.
"I know all the lads would like to wish him a speedy recovery and we're all looking forward to seeing him again soon."
