Danny Fox insists that Premier League newcomers Southampton have no fear ahead of their season opener against reigning champions Manchester City this weekend.
The Saints face the powerful City at Etihad Stadium on Sunday but full-back Fox, who represented Scotland against Australia on Wednesday, is confident the St Mary's club can give a positive account of themselves in their first fixture and for the rest of the campaign.
"This week's started all right for me and hopefully that can continue this weekend," he said in regard to the Scotland win.
"We'll be underdogs this season so hopefully we can surprise a few - we did that last season in the Championship.
"We came in under the radar a bit and got promotion. I think we can continue to progress if we keep the squad together and add a few.
"It can be done. You look at Norwich and Swansea - they surprised a lot of people.
"The Premier's the place to be and hopefully I can ply my trade there and do well."
