Scotland calls on Cardiff's Cowie to replace Celtic's Brown

Scotland boss Craig Levein has recalled Don Cowie to his squad for Tuesday's World Cup qualifier with Belgium in Brussels.

The Cardiff City midfielder missed the initial cut for Levein's squad but he gets his chance after Celtic skipper Scott Brown succumbed to a recurrence of his ongoing hip problem in Friday's 2-1 loss to Wales.

Cowie has played 10 times for Scotland and will be hoping to contribute as they look to bounce back from Friday's defeat as they sit second bottom on the Group A table with two points from three outings.
