Burley is expected to call up to a dozen Celtic and Rangers players for next month's Hampden friendly against Croatia. The Old Firm will then meet less than three days later and both manager are concerned their players could be tired out.

However, Burley is sympathetic towards the player's tough schedule and will consider substituting players off before the end o f the match.

"Communication is very important and I appreciate it's been a heavy schedule - it's been especially hard for the Old Firm.

"I want a strong squad and the right result against Croatia. It is important as it is my first match.

"Would I take players off early? It is something I would look at. I'm sure there will be one or two feeling the heavy schedule," added Burley.
