NK Istra 1961 boss Elvis Scoria had a big say in Tottenham's capture of Dinamo Zagreb midfielder Luka Modric.

Scoria played for Juande Ramos at Llieda in Spain and the Spurs boss revealed: "I decided on him after seeing him play just twice.

"Scoria recommended him a year-and-a-half ago, when I still did not know the guy.

"But he was aware of the great ability to find players and Scoria convinced me with his conviction that this was a special player."
