Real Madrid coach Bernd Schuster says Rafael van der Vaart will have a different role to what he enjoyed at former club Hamburg.

"At Real Madrid his status will change," said Schuster. "The responsibility will be more within the group. At Hamburg he was the master, all the attacking play came through him, he gave passes and scored goals.

"Here, he will not have this responsibility, but his technical quality will help us."
