Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has backed their move for Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos.

It's understood a deal has been struck which will see Kroos move to United for £20 million.

Scholes, in his column for the Paddy Power Blog, wrote: "The first player I'd bring in is Toni Kroos.

"He's a top-class central midfield player but United need five or six to get anywhere near the top of the Premier League again."
