Paul Scholes is set to join Sir Alex Ferguson in saying farewell to Manchester United fans tomorrow against Swansea City.
Scholes has decided to finally call it a day after coming out of retirement last season.
United's midfield maestro would need a knee operation if he was to play on regularly and he is not prepared to go through with that.
Even without surgery he believes that, at 38 and after over 700 games for the club, the time is right to step aside and let the young guns move in.
But boss Ferguson is determined that he starts this final home game against Michael Laudrup's Swansea.
