Paul Scholes believes long-time friend Ryan Giggs is determined to become a top quality manager.
The Manchester United veteran currently serves as assistant to boss Louis van Gaal and is seen as the Dutchman's successor when his contract expires in 2017.
Welshman Giggs took over at Old Trafford when David Moyes was sacked close to the end of last season and is resolute in fulfilling his managerial ambitions, so much so that ex-teammate Scholes suggests he could look to opt out as van Gaal's right-hand man.
"There's no doubt, he had that little taste of it for the last three weeks of last year and he definitely wants to be a manager," United legend Scholes told BT Sport.
"You can see that. Over the next two or three years, will he have the patience to be a number two for that long? I'm not sure he will."
