Schneiderlin lauds Man Utd young gun Martial for fighting back

Morgan Schneiderin was full of praise for teammate Anthony Martial after he saved Manchester United from defeat in the Champions League.

The 19-year-old French striker gave away the penalty that led to CSKA Moscow's opening goal in the eventual 1-1 draw at Arena Khimki on Wednesday night.

However, the £36million summer signing dusted himself off to head home a 65th-minute leveller as United escaped the Russian capital with a share of the points on what was a tricky evening for the visitors.

After the match, midfielder Schneiderlin spoke of Martial's performance and was thrilled the youngster was able to shrug off his earlier mistake and respond by contributing to a vital point on the road.

"[Martial's goal] changed the dynamic of the game," Schneiderlin told BT Sport.

"He didn't let his head down because that [conceding a penalty] can happen to anyone.

"Anthony scored a great goal and after that we pushed on but we could not score the second goal which was a shame."
