Schmeichel: Leicester will not change ‘too much’ for Club Brugge

Kasper Schmeichel insists Leicester City will retain their usual playing style in their Champions League opener this week.

Claudio Ranieri's Foxes meet Club Brugge in their first Group G fixture in Belgium on Wednesday night and despite a subpar beginning to their Premier League title defence, things will stay as normal according to the Danish goalkeeper.

"We've done some homework on Brugge and we have an idea what they are about but we won't change too much - the success we've had, in the years I've been here, has been through us being us and playing the way we do," said Schmeichel in the wake of the weekend's 4-1 loss to Liverpool.

"Maybe it's not for me to say but I think we've got to focus on the methods and the way we've got our success and we've come a long way and sometimes you have to take a step back and reflect.

"In my time, Leicester have come from finishing ninth in the Championship only four years ago so to be stood here as Premier League champions and looking forward to playing in the Champions League, we've done all right."
