Off contract West Bromwich Albion utility Paul Scharner still has a soft spot for Wigan Athletic.

Scharner has hopes of continuing his career in England next season.

"Of course I still care about Wigan Athletic - I spent four-and-a-half happy years there and I still look out for their fortunes," Scharner revealed to the Wigan Evening Post.

"I very much hope Roberto Martinez stays at the club.

"The team did very well towards the back end of last season and I hope they can keep that going into next season."
