Schalke 04 manager Andre Breitenreiter has urged attacking midfielder Leroy Sane to continue his development with the Bundesliga club before seeking a move to European powerhouse.

Sane has been linked with the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal, Real Madrid and Barcelona in recent weeks, but Breitenreiter believes it is too soon for the starlet to be contemplating such a move.

"When I was a player I also dreamed of playing for Barcelona or Real Madrid and logically you have to ask yourself how many times you'll have that opportunity," Breitenreiter said.

"Leroy Sane should decide if it's right for him and if he's interested in signing for Barcelona or Real Madrid.

"Leroy is in good hands if he decides to stay at Schalke 04, where he can grow to then make the leap further down the line to one of the two or three leading clubs in the world and test himself against the best in the world.

"I think he must still mature."
