Philadelphia Union captain Danny Califf suggests that Schalke striker Raul may be persuaded to play MLS if he experiences firsthand just how much the competition is growing.
The 34-year old Spanish great is set to depart the German Bundesliga club this summer which has prompted plenty of interest in his services from around the globe.
But after the former Real Madrid star played against the Union at PPL Park on Wednesday night, Califf feels he might now be thinking about a possible move to North America.
"For the most part, a lot of European organizations and players are ignorant to what is going on here. For us to be able to show them that there's quality soccer, there's quality facilities and quality support, I think that's huge in growing the brand of [MLS].""I think the more that he sees how good the league is and how good the facilities and the fans and all that stuff are, that's certainly going to pique his interest," Califf told MLSsoccer.com.
