FC Schalke goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has turned down the chance to join Manchester United this summer.
The 24-year old Germany international had emerged as a strong target for Sir Alex Ferguson but he says will not be leaving his homeland in the near future.
"I definitely want to win the Bundesliga once in my career," he said. "I can go abroad twice a year, once for a summer holiday and once for a winter holiday, but whether I need to go abroad to play football - some players say you do, but I see things differently.
"The priorities are always success and how happy you are, and you have got to think of yourself," he added in Kicker magazine. "I have won the League Cup twice and I hope to add the DFB-Pokal in May."
United are now likely to step up their interest in Atletico Madrid young gun David de Gea.
