Schalke striker Kevin Kuranyi has been linked with a move to Birmingham City.
The 27-year olds contract at the German club expires at the end of the season but with Schalke's troubling financial situation, the club may look to offload the Germany international in January.
Reports suggest that Birmingham boss Alex McLeish watched Kuranyi as Schalke defeated Hertha Berlin on the weekend and is keen to move for him when the transfer window opens.
But Kuranyi says he would like to stay at Schalke if it were possible.
"I don't know where I will be playing next season, but I hope it is with Schalke," he said.
