Schalke midfielder Jermaine Jones is now eligible to represent the USA national team after having his application approved by FIFA.
The 27-year old has finally made the switch to USA from the German national team but will not be able to represent his adopted country until next year because of injury.
The USA have European friendlies in mid-November but Jones will not be fit because of a broken left shin he sustained in summer.
Jones was born in Germany to an American father and German mother and spent some of his childhood in Mississippi before returning to Frankfurt with his mother.
