Schalke have opened the door to Manchester United trumping Bayern Munich for Manuel Neuer.
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson was amazed by Neuer's performance last night, but seemed resigned to seeing the Germany No1 moving to Bayern.
But Schalke have other ideas and are ready to sell to the highest bidder.
Schalke sporting director Horst Heldt said of Neuer after the defeat to United: "His value on the transfer market is already very high, I don't know if it can still go up.
"But watching this match, I said to myself, 'Why sell such a player?'."
Bayern chief Uli Hoeness warned: "We want Manuel, and where there's a will there's a way.
"But Schalke cannot now demand an astronomical price."
