Schalke midfielder Max Meyer wants 'attractive and lucrative' Arsenal move

Arsenal are favourites to land Schalke midfielder Max Meyer.

Off contract in June, Meyer has rejected a new deal tabled by Schalke and there's an acceptance he will now leave at the end of the season.

BILD says Meyer is in contact with Arsenal, where their German chief scout Sven Mislintat is driving the move.

There are other clubs keen, but Arsenal are now regarded as favourites to land the U21 Euros champion. For his part, Meyer is seeking a 'new challenge'.

Despite Arsenal's struggles over the past two seasons, the midfielder sees the Gunners as 'an attractive and lucrative destination'.
