Schalke midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng is surprised by AC Milan's struggles.

Boateng left Milan in August.

"I didn't expect such a gap," the Ghana international said. "They have started the season poorly, but I know them.

"The squad is strong and they'll do well. We started in the same way last season, but ended up in the Champions League."
