Schalke are launching a bid for Barcelona defender Marlon.

Sport says Schalke plan to offer €15m for the Brazilian after selling young defender Thilo Kehrer to PSG for €37m.

Marlon had hoped to move to England last week, but despite interest from West Ham and Newcastle the Premier League deadline fell with him still a Barca player.

The defender spent last season on-loan with Nice and knows he has little future at the Nou Camp.

Marlon's agents are now in advanced talks with S04 about closing a permanent deal.
