Schalke defender Benedikt Höwedes has cooled talk of a move to Arsenal.
The Germany international is seen at Arsenal as a replacement for Thomas Vermaelen following his departure to Barcelona.
Quizzed about the Gunners' rumours, Höwedes insisted: "There are always rumours, especially if you have become world champion. But I've played for 13 years at Schalke and would not be here so long if I did not love this club.
"Therefore, I am currently not interested with such topics, but I know that I'm standing here where things can be taken out of my control."
Höwedes added: "I have already expressed that it would interest me to go sometime abroad and learn a new environment, a new language and a different club. But not at this time."
