Schalke chief executive Clemens Tonnies has revealed Manchester United want their goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.
Tonnies claimed an agent has declared United's interest in Neuer.
"I have been approached by an international player agent, he gave me information about Manchester United being keen on Manuel Neuer," Tonnies told BILD.
"We would have to look into the details if we were to receive a written enquiry from Manchester."
If United decide Neuer is their top target to replace the retiring Edwin van der Sar, they are likely to face fierce competition for his signature from Bayern Munich.
