Schalke chief Heldt doesn't expect January sale for Arsenal, Liverpool target Holtby

Schalke chief Horst Heldt doesn't expect to sell Lewis Holtby in January.

The winger is off contract in June and set to hold pre-contract talks with Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham in the coming weeks.

"We were told that Lewis wants to fulfill his contract through to the summer," confirmed Heldt.

Holtby rejected new contract terms last week and BILD says there was a difference of €2 million-a-year in negotiations.

The midfielder's agent had sought €5 million-a-year to re-sign, but Schalke refused to go higher than €3 million-a-year.
