Schalke chief Christian Heidel has cooled talk of a move to Liverpool for Max Meyer.
The young attacking midfielder has been linked with a big money move to the Reds this past week.
But Heidel, who is good friends with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, insists there's been no enquiry about Meyer.
"Meyer is a really good player, but a move to Liverpool is nonsense. I've known Mr Klopp for a while now and I have spoken with him recently.
"I think he would have mentioned the player by name if interest had been there. Apart from this, Max is not on our sales list."
