Schalke are battling Manchester City and Swansea City for Bayern Munich defender Holger Badstuber.

City boss Pep Guardiola is keen on a reunion with his former Bayern stopper, as is Paul Clement, who left FCB for Swansea last week.

The stopper has been made available for loan and BILD says he'd be happy to join S04.

But Schalke chief Markus Weinzierl says: "He has qualities, this is clear. But I do not know if he would be viable for us."

Bayern want Badstuber to pen a new deal before he leaves this month.
