FC Schalke have been dealt a major blow with news that defender Atsuto Uchida is set to be sidelined for up to three weeks.
The 25-year old Japan international tore a muscle in his right thigh in the weekend's 2-0 win over Hannover and will now miss the rest of the action in February.
Right-back Uchida, who has started 17 Bundesliga matches this season, is expected to be unavailable for the next two league outings against Bayer Leverkusen and Mainz as well as the Champions League Round of 16 first leg with Real Madrid in Gelsenkirchen on February 26.
