Leroy Sane has made a transfer request at Schalke.

The Sun says Manchester City are closing in on the £42million signing of Sane after the Germany ace told Schalke he wants to leave.

And Pep Guardiola has seemingly been given a clear run at signing the 20-year-old after Bayern Munich boss Carlo Ancelotti denied he wants the player.

S04 chief Christian Heidel said: “Leroy has made it clear, he would like to leave this summer.

“We will consent to a transfer if Schalke's conditions are met."

City have already added Ilkay Gundogan, Nolito and Oleksandr Zinchenko to their ranks this summer, with Sane now set to become Guardiola's fourth summer signing.
