Genoa goalkeeper Alessio Scarpi is delighted with his senior role at the Serie A new-boys.

Scarpi revealed: "It appeals to me the idea that some of my teammates look to me as a point of reference inside the dressing room. Above all the young players and the new ones. I know my responsibilities.

"And I cannot stress enough that I appreciate the clarity and the esteem demonstrated by the club when they extended my contract."
