Former Tottenham defender John Scales has hailed the impact made by coach Juande Ramos.
"The way they've gone about playing, the results they've had, the form of the players, their fitness, he's installed a completely different mindset for the players at Tottenham.
"They look like a team on the verge of becoming capable of challenging the clubs at the top of the league in the next couple of years."
Scales was speaking at an event promoting the Football Foundation, who have invested £600million into development of facilities since 2000.
The scheme is designed to increase participation in the game with a long-term view of developing young English talent.
Scales said: "It's about investing in the future of football in this country and sport in general and I think this money will have a great impact on communities across the country."
