Nevio Scala has revealed he was in talks with AS Roma about a coaching return earlier this season.
“In October, when part of the squad was already failing to follow the directives of their Coach Ranieri, there was contact and I was close to making a return to work,” Scala told Radio 24.
“I have always had a good rapport with Roma and their President, so the idea of returning to the playing field has been bouncing around my head of late.”
He added: “My move to Roma did not happen for a number of different situations and one of those was to go for a cheaper option that was already on the club payroll.
“I am not desperately seeking a new job, but football is my life and I constantly watch the matches on television and in the stadium. I cannot hide the fact I would still like to get back into the game.”
