SC Cambuur are in talks with Manchester City about extending a loan deal for Albert Rusnak.
The winger's current agreement runs only to January.
"We talked last week with City about him," CEO Gerald van den Belt told Voetbal International. "They are very happy with how he performs with us. He may stay longer with us, although there are still some financial snags on the deal.
"We want to first make sure that Albert finishes the season with us, but if it is possible to buy him, we will gladly do that."
Rusnak is off contract in June.
"But that doesn't mean we can get him for free," continued Van den Belt.
"If we take him, we have to pay a compensation fee to City. Every year that he spent in training at City will cost us €80,000."
Rusnak has spent four years with City, meaning Cambuur will face a €320,000 transfer fee to sign him outright.
"A lot of money for us," adds Van den Belt.
