Sunderland chief Ricky Sbragia is being shown the door.
The People says Sbragia - the man who saved Sunderland's Premier League skin - has been sacked as club chief scout, despite being promised a job for life.
He took over as caretaker manager following the departure of Roy Keane in December 2008 before being given an 18-month contract.
Stadium of Light chiefs will try to use the "mutual consent" line but sources close to Sbragia insist he was sacked.
