Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been forced to eat his own words over the Premier League's loan system. Last week, Wenger hit out at Tottenham's deal for Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor.

"It doesn't respect the 25-player rule because you can own half of the league and give them out to where it suits you," said Wenger.

Five days later and the Arsenal manager signs Yossi Benayoun on a year's loan from Chelsea and sends Nicklas Bendtner out to Sunderland on the same terms.
