Javier Saviola insists he tried to earn a move away from Real Madrid last month.

The Argentina striker has been accused of putting up his feet and collecting his wages at Real. But he says: "I talked to the coach about my situation: I told him that if he does not want to count on me, it would be better if I went elsewhere.

"I tried to find another place, but I stayed here because the club did not find any agreement. I want to play: it is difficult for me to stay away from playing so long."
