Former Real Madrid midfielder Savio Bortolini believes it was an error to allow Alvaro Morata to leave.

The Castilla graduate has starred for Chelsea since quitting Real last summer.

Bortolini is sorry that Real failed to convince Morata to stick with Los Merengues this season.

He told Bernabeu Digital: "The departure of Alvaro Morata is regrettable. This year he would have been useful, just like Pepe."

Portugal defender Pepe also quit Real in August for Besiktas.
