Savicevic: I told Vucinic to quit Roma

Former AC Milan star Dejan Savicevic has hailed Roma striker Mirko Vucinic.

Savicevic, now president of the Montenegro federation, declared: "Vucinic is the pride of our nation. A great footballer.

"He only needed continuity for his talent to emerge."

He also revealed: "In the beginning he had problems with (Roma coach) Luciano Spalletti and when he joined the national team I advised him to leave. At 24, I believe a player of his talent needs to be playing.

"I believe he can play in the same team as Francesco Totti. Totti is a phenomenon and cannot be replaced, but Vucinic can be successful alongside him."
